Meet Our Staff

Theresa Serrano, PT, DPT, OCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

Theresa is a South Bay native who grew up in the San Pedro area and enjoys caring for the same community she calls home.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention with a minor in Dance from the University of Southern California and went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at USC. She later completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at Glendale Adventist Health Therapy and Wellness Center and became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

She enjoys working with active individuals of all ages, from those trying to stay mobile in daily life to recreational athletes and performers. With her background in dance, she has a strong appreciation for movement quality, balance, and body awareness.

Known for her compassion and empathy, Theresa strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and supported throughout their recovery.

In her free time, Theresa enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, reading, and watching her favorite TV shows.

Mitchell Peña, PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Mitch grew up in a small mountain town in Northern California and developed an early interest in health, movement, and staying active.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from California State University, Chico, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Azusa Pacific University. He is licensed to practice in the state of California and is proud to serve the South Bay community.

His clinical approach is rooted in modern pain science and focuses on patient education, functional movement, and practical strategies patients can use in their daily lives. He believes understanding why pain occurs is just as important as treating it, and works with each patient to build confidence, reduce fear of movement, and return to meaningful activities safely.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys staying active with exercise and time spent outdoors.

Ralph Tamayo, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Ralph is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant from Cypress, CA. He earned his BS in Kinesiology from CSULB and a PTA degree from Cerritos College afterwards.

Ralph has a passion for the orthopedic side of physical therapy in which he specializes in manual therapy, therapeutic exercises and working with athletes. His passion was inspired by sports growing up as he played basketball and ran track and cross country and was exposed to physical therapy early on due to sports injuries.

In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, playing basketball, golf, watching sports and talking about food.

Luz Lathon, CMT

Massage Therapist

Luz was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and raised in California, where her love for wellness and natural healing began. With 18 years of experience as a massage therapist, Luz is dedicated to helping others feel relaxed, restored, and cared for through the power of therapeutic touch.

She specializes in Swedish massage, deep tissue, hot stone, and prenatal massage, customizing every session to support each client’s individual needs — whether it’s relieving stress, easing muscle tension, or providing comfort during pregnancy.

Luz has a deep love for nature and singing, which inspires the peaceful and nurturing atmosphere she creates for her clients. She believes massage is more than relaxation — it’s a time to reconnect with your body, release tension, and allow true healing to begin.

Her goal is simple: for every client to leave feeling lighter, renewed, and deeply cared for.
